- About Clayton Lillienfeldt
Clayton Lillienfeldt is the Chief Operating Officer of Imali Wealth Group, where he supports the group’s operational execution, programme delivery, stakeholder engagement and commercialisation activities across its growing ecosystem of platforms and initiatives.
He is a seasoned senior-level manager with more than 15 years of experience implementing and executing strategic initiatives across business development, government programmes, donor-funded projects, community development, skills development and organisational transformation.
Clayton brings strong capability in strategic planning, project management, organisational development, capacity building, mentoring, policy implementation, donor fund management, stakeholder coordination and change management. His work has consistently focused on turning strategy into practical execution, particularly in environments where multiple partners, funders, institutions and communities need to move in alignment.
His professional background includes major projects and programmes with organisations such as Transnet, UBANK, Murray & Roberts, the South African Government, UNICEF Bangladesh, the 2010 FIFA World Cup delivery environment and BeAccessible Investment. These roles exposed him to complex implementation contexts involving infrastructure, banking, logistics, energy, education, livelihoods, social development, disability inclusion and stakeholder-led programme delivery.
At Imali Wealth Group, Clayton plays a key role in strengthening the group’s ability to deliver structured programmes, manage operational workstreams, support implementation teams, engage partners and help entrepreneurs move from ideas into measurable outcomes.
His experience in mentoring and coaching also supports Imali Wealth Group’s work through the DIDS Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, where entrepreneurs, youth, women-led enterprises and emerging innovators require practical guidance, business development support and commercialisation pathways.
Clayton’s leadership style is grounded in collaboration, accountability and execution. He is passionate about building institutional capacity, developing people, creating inclusive economic opportunities and helping programmes deliver meaningful results for communities, entrepreneurs and partners.
